Interesting. You might be right. There may be other forces at work, however. McDonald's has been struggling from other things: lousy and lousy for you food and an oversaturation of fast food restaurants to name three. Also, traditionally, common sense tells us that the cheapest restaurants are the ones that will do better during an inflationary period. Lastly, I don't think the FED will let us slip into a recession. They will lower the interest rates. They are more and more capable of managing monetary policy with extreme finesse.
