I started a business by myself and it has been successful. I did struggle when I needed a soundboard for big decisions so I joined the Startup Founders Group (I was one of the founding members). We process issues each month and help advise each other on substantive issues. It is doable. On the other hand, I saw so many companies in our group fall apart because the founders were always fighting with each other. It got to the point where I could tell if a startup was going to make it within a few meetings. It was the first article I wrote on Medium, called, “8 Reasons Why Startups Fail.” If you have a strong board of advisers, in some ways, it is easier than doing it with a partner.
