I always felt that my anger came from not being able to assert myself. When I am assertive, ask for what I want or need, it is like letting off steam from a valve. If I don’t let off the steam, the pressure will build until it explodes — that is anger, which is a form of aggressiveness. My mantra is: assertive not aggressive. It has helped me deal with a lifelong anger management problem. Thanks for shining a light on this. I like your suggestions too.
