Here’s the Underappreciated Value of a Four-Year College Education

Attention Gen-Z. Some young people don’t want to go to college. They don’t see the value. They think a college degree is overrated. They read stories about some tech billionaires that dropped out of college.

Fair enough. Here is a short list of the most famous: Bill Gates (Microsoft), Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), Steve Jobs (Apple), Larry Ellison (Oracle), Michael Dell (Dell), and Jack Dorsey (Twitter).

Heck, some even dropped out of high school. Richard Branson of Virgin Group, left Stowe High School at the age of sixteen to start his first business. His first business was a magazine called “Student”. By the way, his biography, “Losing My Virginity,” is one of my favorite books and a real page-turner.

Okay, Zoomers. Out of billions of people, some college dropouts are incredibly successful. However, getting a college degree not only improves your chance of success, it also provides another big benefit …

… you get to learn. A lot (remember, two words). And a lot of different things that will unexpectedly help you. Or things that are just fun.
